This policy concerns the privacy practices followed by the CIIMAR PhD Students’ Committee regarding this website and the conference registrations.
Data We Collect And Why
We do not collect any personal data about you without your consent, which is given in the mode of form submission. In accordance with the Law no. 67/98 on Personal Data Protection, we inform that the information provided in the forms of this website will be stored in information systems owned by CIIMAR. The personal data we collect in the forms include: IP address, necessary for spam protection; names, e-mail address and academic affiliations, which are used for event organization and certification, as well as for contacting users exclusively within the scope of the filled form. Furthermore, we also capture all the information contained within abstract file submissions; the presenter name and title of which may be shared with the public in the conference’s schedule. The remaining data will be made public, integrating the yearly Book of Abstracts, only with your explicit consent. The file submission includes metadata that accompanies these files, which will not be utilized for any purpose. Any other data requested is used exclusively for the conference’s inner logistics.
Data processing
The processing of the data provided in these forms is the responsibility of the CIIMAR PhD Students’ Committee as data controller, who guarantee all confidentiality. All collected data will be used uniquely for the purposes expressed above, and it won’t be made publicly available under any other circumstances. Furthermore, we enforce the “right to erasure” of the GDPR: the owner of the data may request access, rectification or deletion of it any time they see fit, by contacting us. We will also only keep your data for as long as needed, and guarantee its integral deletion in up to six months after the conference ends.
